Eisteddfod Story

The Eisteddfod story for year 5 is going to be your own version of a myth that explains an element of nature.

You could begin to think about:
*Forces of nature such as volcanoes, earthquakes, tornadoes etc
*What might cause them
*Gods, Gorgons and Titans found in mythology

Captain Scott Answer

A good try but no one quite got the answer correct. The reason the statue is in Cardiff Bay and nowhere else is because Cardiff Bay was the last place Captain Scott docked his ship before he left on his fateful voyage to Antarctica

Captain Scott

It was wonderful to receive a visit from Captain Scott today, he will be preparing for his journey tomorrow so we will not see him but you will continue to receive your training.

For 3 merits, can anyone find out why there is a statue of him in Cardiff Bay? Email me by Wednesday with the correct answer to get the merits

Space Homework

This weekend's homework is for science.

Research an aspect of space and enter the information into the forum. You can choose any aspect of space such as a planet, moon, star, constellation, astronauts, spacecraft or anything else you can think of. Start a new topic in the forum with the name of your entry.

When you are writing sentences, please do not copy and paste from the internet. You must write in your own words. You can attach images if you would like. The forum is open so you can discuss other children's entries and ask them questions about it.

This homework is due in by Wednesday 25th January

Karys

Good luck to Karys who is attending a dance competition on Sunday.

Pupils of the week

Well done to Ellie V and Joshua who received the Pupil of the Week awards in 5T this week.

Ellie has settled in well and is working hard to raise the standard of her work.

Joshua is a very hard working boy and can always be relied on to do his best. This is especially evident when he is given a task and settles down immediately to it.

Well done both

Reading books will be changed every Friday. Please could all children bring them in every Friday, even if they do not need to change them so that I can keep up to date with their progress
